I'm back again, yay!! *Inserts drum rolls*
While self-reflecting, earlier this month, I realized that I wasn't giving myself enough credit.
Which is NOT fine!
So, I set out to start giving myself enough credit. Started highlighting the things I'm good at (phew, pretty long list).
I'm an amazing person, if I do say so myself. (Let me blow my own horn please).
Realized that many people do not know when and how to blow their horns. Like, why do you think you're not good enough?
Have you seen you?
Reminds me of this quote from Marianne Williamson, read by Akeelah in the movie Akeelah and the bee. (One of my favorite movies ever)
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
It is not like we are not amazing, we just feel like we are undeserving of the word.
However, I’d like you to know that whatever force or spiritual being you believe in, put you in this world for a reason, and you need to be able believe in yourself to achieve it.
Anyways, I felt I should start like a series or something that would remind people of how amazing they are.
Like start a blog on substack or start a newsletter or something, just to build their confidence when they are down.(Which, I have done. Now spread the word)
Remember: It is okay to self-doubt but learn when to snap out of it. We are about to enter a new month, start it with positivity.
I’m rooting for you, always.
Love,
Ayo.
